Education in Every Home aims to help school systems enhance their educational practices. The organization is currently auditing school textbooks to ensure they meet standards in Diversity and Inclusion areas. Education in Every Home is working in partnership with the National Human Rights Commission of Nepal and the Government of Nepal to conduct a pilot project, “Strengthening Diversity and Inclusion in Nepal’s Education System,” aimed at creating a more inclusive and representative education system in Nepal.
The project assesses various indicators, including disability, socio-economic status, urban-rural divide, gender representation, and equity, vague or assumed caste/ethnic identity, geographic references, occupation, omission, over-representation, invisibilization, food, erasure of history, culture, age, ethnicity, language, caste roles, power, misrepresentation, intersectionality, accessibility, orientation, vocation, prejudice, religion, marginalization, and digital gap/divide and stereotyping for auditing textbooks.
