The Education Innovation Laboratory was established to develop the innovation ecosystem in Latvia leading to economic transformation. Being financed by the Ministry of Education, implemented by Riga Business School, and having close partners from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (MIT J-WEL), gives us a unique opportunity to specifically focus on higher education’s role in this ecosystem. We also see an opportunity to bring together the various stakeholders of government leaders, companies, educational institutions, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and venture capitalists so that the different initiatives will benefit from each of these unique perspectives and needs of all stakeholders. To meet these end goals, the Education Innovation Laboratory currently has three programs designed to increase the capacity of the leadership of the institutions of higher education, private sector, and public administration in the management of international cooperation, research, and innovations.
In the development of this innovation ecosystem we see that the building of this community is crucial, so we invite all of the various stakeholders who are wanting to contribute to the local and global economic transformation to join the community and participate in the upcoming events!
