Elkon Innovation and Tech Institute is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to bridging the gap between underserved communities and the tech industry in Colorado, with the long-term vision of one day expanding across the African continent to offer similar opportunities. With a growing demand for skilled IT professionals and a severe shortage of trained talent—especially from underserved groups—there is a clear need for accessible tech education.
Over 70% of tech roles require post-secondary education or certifications, yet many immigrants, rural populations, and homeless communities lack the resources to pursue this path. Meanwhile, Africa faces a shortage of over 3.4 million and growing tech professionals to meet industry demand (World Economic Forum). The African tech ecosystem is growing rapidly, but a significant gap in technical skills remains (McKinsey & Company).
As a nonprofit, we aim to provide affordable training in IT certifications, coding, cybersecurity, and more. Beyond technical skills, we offer mentorship, soft skills development, and job placement support to help individuals launch sustainable careers.
