A global research school navigating the social and environmental controversies of low-carbon energy transition. Empowered Futures is a research school for PhD and postdoc candidates, which provides research-based competence on conflict mediation, equitable policy and development frameworks to achieve a just energy transition. In the school, multiple academic and societal partners in Norway join forces to help educate scholars of the future in energy social science. The Empowered Futures research school targets a broad range of social scientific PhD candidates with a specific interest in building careers in research, business, consultancy and the public sector.
