English Matters offers courses for teachers, students and professionals in Ireland, England and other European countries. The meaningful learning of English through culture(s) and the sharing of ideas and good practices are fundamental to our work. Among our activities stands out the design, promotion and organization of programmes concerning the intercultural and inquiry-based learning of modern languages. EM introduces a European Dimension in its activities and encourages international networking and the constitution of learning partnerships. This facilitates the exchange of professional expertise, either at school or institute level, or on a personal basis. Our programmes are a fine example of European co-operation where effective methodologies are actively supported. The Executive Committee of English Matters is based in Spain and works with Universities and training bodies in Ireland, England and various European countries.
