ENGLISH @ WORK Overview

ENGLISH @ WORK is an Austin, Texas-based nonprofit whose mission is to provide essential language instruction at the workplace in order to increase employees’ opportunities for improved quality of life and to increase employers’ competitive advantage. Our vision is to build a community where language proficiency gives all people access to opportunity. Since our founding in 2005, we have served over 600 local workers in 39 classes at 28 businesses in the service, healthcare, and construction industries. Our students speak over 20 different languages and come from 30 different countries, but they all share one common goal - speak English well enough to do a good job and help support their families. Our ENGLISH @ WORK community stands at 14 teachers, 33 volunteers, 7 board members, 2 interns, and 4 staff members strong. We are ENGLISH @ WORK.
