The National Higher Polytechnic School of Douala, formerly the Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FGI), educates engineers in the fields of Science, Technology, and Techniques, following the LMD system. It awards degrees in Engineering (BAC+5) and Doctorate/PhD (BAC+8) in Engineering Sciences in the following disciplines: - Industrial Construction Technology (ICT) - Automotive Technology (AT) - Industrial Robotics (IR) - Industrial Fishing/Marine Engineering (IFME) - Hygiene-Safety and Industrial Security (HSIS) - Civil Engineering (CE) - Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies (TICT) - Chemical Engineering (CE) - Energy Engineering (EE) - Process Engineering (PE) The courses are organized by semesters and grouped into compulsory, optional, and elective Teaching Units (TU). This provides students with a broader range of profiles (or specialization areas) that meet the needs of socio-professional environments. The National Higher Polytechnic School of Douala is located at the PK17 Campus, on the outskirts of the city of Douala, and is built on a site covering several hectares, including: - An amphitheater with 1200 seats - Two educational buildings housing laboratories and around fifty state-of-the-art classrooms. - An administrative building - Seven workshops built on a footprint of 800 m² each - A computer laboratory - A library with intranet connection providing access to over 15,000 specialized engineering books and several journals - A parking lot that can accommodate more than 500 vehicles - Minibuses for company visits and other student activities - Several national and international agreements.
