Entremedio is a strategic design agency that functions as a catalyst. Together with the end-user and involved stakeholders we identify opportunities and generate solutions which create multiple values for people and planet. We partner with entrepreneurs, governments and organisations in developed as well as developing countries on a community level; from a neighbourhood in the Netherlands, to a slum in Haiti or a rural village in India. Too often we found that solutions developed in meeting rooms appear to be ideal, but in practice do not link with the perception of people, or make use of the strength of communities. The core of our approach is that we integrate the ‘social and human’ components with the ‘technical and mostly physical’ side. In the field we use professional empathy to gather insights with end-users and stakeholders. We translate these into creative ideas and design strategic- and practical solutions. Throughout the process iterative validation of insights, ideas and solutions take place to make sure that these are well adapted to the context and people they are meant for. Our believe is that what we do and how we do this truly makes a difference for a better and more beautiful world. We have acquired solid knowledge and working experience in diverse post disaster- and developing- countries, in urban and rural contexts, where we worked mainly in the sectors of BoP housing, shelter and settlements with integrated links to WASH, infrastructure, livelihood, education, and DRR.
