In 1986 in Granbury, Texas, Classic Rope started as one of the first companies to devise and perfect machine manufacturing of the lariat rope. Countless hours were spent formulating rope components that could withstand all types of roping conditions, both indoor and outdoor. Initially founded for the sole purpose of supporting the event of team roping, Classic was able to offer a consistent structure and sensitive feel in their ropes like no others on the market. Because of its quality and appeal, Classic Rope quickly became the leading rope manufacturer that professionals grew to depend on, and still use and trust today.
As the company grew, Classic Equine was established in 1995, specializing in saddle pads and expanding to include boots, cinches, bits, spurs, blankets, and accessories. Classic Equine has always worked closely with professionals to develop durable, high-quality products, with a focus on performance and the well-being of horses.
In 1996, Classic Rope and Classic Equine merged to form Equibrand. Rattler Rope, a leader in calf and team roping, joined the group in 1997, becoming part of the only rope manufacturers to produce their own string from raw materials. This in-house process ensures precision, quality, and the unique “feel” of their ropes.
In 1998, Dale Martin Saddlery, now Martin Saddlery, was added to the family. Known for high-quality, handcrafted saddles and leather tack, Martin Saddlery focuses on saddle fit and tree design. Their goal is to create durable, comfortable saddles that enhance the performance of equine athletes. Since 2003, Martin has been at the forefront of saddle fit, working with professionals to ensure the best results for both horse and rider.
