Golf can be a life-long sport and can help girls and women break barriers at school and work, as well as improve their social lives. Nonetheless, many junior golfers are unable to enjoy the sport because of financial reasons. Golf course fees, “green fees,” can be very expensive and reduce the access to many courses, yet several community organizations are helping junior golfers gain access. Another burden still remains, as many girls are not able to purchase golf clubs, shoes and sports apparel and these can be quickly outgrown.
Having the proper clubs, golf shoes and attire not only helps deliver a better game, it can improve self-esteem. Our goal is to help reduce some of the barriers that prevent girls from entering and staying in junior golf programs. Equipped fore Success, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that seeks donations, including golf equipment and golf apparel, and distributes to girls joining formal golf programs throughout South Florida. We also promote and sponsor junior golf tournaments for girls to help increase opportunities to play competitively.
