EUROPEUM was proposed in June 2023 as one of the first European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC). On 21 May 2024, the European Commission officially set up EUROPEUM-EDIC with the Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/1432.
EUROPEUM's membership counts with eleven EU Member States: Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Spain.
EUROPEUM will establish and operate the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) to deliver Union-wide cross-border services, in particular public services.
