Every Body’s In was created in 2013 when a small group planned a weekend of events featuring Patricia Moore Harbour, author of “Community Educators”, which was a great success. The planning team gathered to debrief and decided to continue meeting. Ten years later, we are still meeting monthly and continuing our work. Every Body’s In is a movement that encourages Every Body to recognize the connection between education in the schools and education in the community. We encourage others to accept their rightful places as Community Educators to help strengthen those connections. We define Community Educators as anyone who steps up and takes responsibility for the education and development of youth in their community. They are not necessarily formal educators. A Community Educator could be the woman who teaches youth in the neighborhood how to cook. Or the local scout leader. Or the “first boss” who teaches how to show up on time and do a good job. Or a mentor at an after-school program. Our common goal is to prepare youth to become responsible, educated, and civic minded. Every Body’s In’s guiding principle is that, in a democracy, the development and education of youth is everyone’s responsibility. We ask you to join us in our endeavors by committing to the education and enrichment of the young people you’re connected to. Note: We do not have "employees," we have a core team of dedicated and passionate volunteers.
