The Excellence Chair on Pensions was created in 2014 by Prof. Pierre Devolder and Prof. Alexia Autenne to implement a multidisciplinary approach to research combining actuarial science (the study of financing pensions & assets management), economics, statistics and legal analysis.
The Chair focuses on 3 main objectives:
1) Providing a critical analysis of issues linked to the financing, management and regulation of pension systems, both at national and European levels;
2) Creating a high-level trans-disciplinary research group on the subject of pensions at the Université Catholique Louvain;
3) Providing training on issues and challenges related to Belgian and European pension systems & fostering the visibility of teaching activities in the field of pensions.
