About the FIA:
The facade industry in Australasia has long been fragmented into speciality areas with limited opportunity for the cross fertilisation and sharing of ideas between industry sectors. The FIA provides a space for various parts of the façade industry to engage with one another in an all-encompassing association that is able to provide a united and effective voice for positive regulatory reform, promoting education and knowledge for the benefit of the broader community.
Our Mission:
* Providing an industry voice to advocate for positive regulatory reform for all façade issues, including on matters relating to improving the safety and quality of Australasian buildings.
* Encouraging, fostering and organising educational and learning opportunities and programs for façade industry members.
* Facilitating interaction and dialogue between industry practitioners, with the aim of cross fertilisation and spread of new ideas, knowledge and innovative opportunities, leading to improved quality and safety of products and services for the benefit of the Australasian community at large.
To achieve these aims, the FIA proposes to:
* Promote recognition of the association in the building community
* Identify, promote and support educational programs for façade industry members
* Promote diversity and equality within the facade industry
* Develop recognition pathways for practitioners in the facade industry
* Hold industry networking events, seminars and conferences on key technical issues
* Review regulatory frameworks including the NCC and Codes/Standards that apply to the industry, seeking to identify gaps and areas of concern
* Prepare submissions to regulatory authorities regarding improvement initiatives for the facade industry
* Provide facade industry representation on key construction industry groups/committees
