Fair & Square started back in 2007 as Swaziland Fair Trade, and we have grown into a regional organisation working across Africa. Our guiding philosophy remains fair trade principles and ethical business practices. Our mission and vision is to make poverty history in Southern Africa. We do this through training, mentoring, coaching, and market access. With 189 enterprises from nine Southern African countries under our umbrella, we have over 5000 direct beneficiary partners and tens of thousands of indirect beneficiaries. 87% of our partner enterprises are women owned or led, a significantly higher margin than the norm. The economic empowerment of women and youth is our primary focus.
Since 2011, we facilitated an average sales increase across the board of 49%, with a corresponding increase in take home pay and wages of 47%, creating over 1000 sustainable new jobs.
