Our mission is to empower underprivileged young women and members of the LGBTQ+ community by providing them with the tools and opportunities to thrive in the world of software engineering and technology. Our goal is to enable them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the tech industry.
With extensive experience in the STEM field, our Board has directly witnessed the challenges that girls and young women encounter, constraining their options and future expectations. This is especially pronounced for individuals hailing from disadvantaged backgrounds. We have set out to change that.
FemSTEM is the cultivation of a shared vision for a better access, brighter, more equitable future in STEM for all.
FemSTEM will provide multiple annual scholarships to students who identify as women and/or LGBTQ and are pursuing studies in coding and technology. Financially supporting their educational opportunities in technology at their academic institutions is one of FemSTEM’s most impactful ways of carrying out our mission. FemSTEM supports an inclusive community where women and members of the LGBTQ community can network, collaborate, and learn from each other.
One on One mentoring is a cornerstone of our program where each of the Scholarship recipient will be assigned a Mentor in the field of technology. The Mentors will provide guidance to the Scholarship recipient in shaping their educational and professional journey.
