Films Diplomacy

In today’s global landscape marked by rising divisions, cultural misunderstandings, and diplomatic stalemates, there is an urgent need for innovative, youth-driven platforms that bridge ideological gaps. The Film Diplomacy (FD) is our response to this call. It combines the power of storytelling with the principles of diplomacy to create a space where dialogue is not just spoken—it’s filmed, shared, and felt. We believe that narratives shape perception, and perception drives action. Therefore, by empowering youth to produce diplomatic narratives through film, we are cultivating a new generation of global peacemakers. Our core activities center around a 3-day international conference, featuring: 1) Training workshops led by UN officials and acclaimed filmmakers. 2) A 24-hour Film Challenge where delegates produce short films on themes of peace and cooperation. 3) A Red Carpet Award & Screening Day to celebrate and recognize the participants' achievements. FDC provides a timely and creative solution by: 1) Training of over 150 new youth peace ambassadors each year through immersive film challenges 2) Development of a permanent digital archive hosting 500+ youth-made diplomatic films by 2030 3) Launch of a global “Ambassadors of Film Diplomacy” alumni network in 20+ countries 4) Creation of 30+ cross-cultural filmmaking teams per edition with diverse regional representation 5) Selection of 20 top films per year for international policy forums and UN youth showcases 6) Engagement of 50+ global experts and mentors across filmmaking, diplomacy, and SDG advocacy by 2027
