In partnership with First Love Boracay, headed by Dan Beaver, First Love SSIS is a service group in Suzhou Singapore Internation School that raises funds to support the operation of the Masa Ati school in Boracay. The Masa Ati school is the only school in Boracay for the indigenous Ati people, who are severely discriminated against in access to education, employment, housing, and general social mobility. Most of the tribe live in abject poverty, living in straw-thatched homes with no electricity and running water, with the children having their only meal of the day in school.
First Love SSIS aims to come alongside the Masa Ati school to help uplift the Ati people from poverty through education - funding staff salaries, school operation costs, and food programs. In the past year, First Love has raised 40,000 RMB to fund the construction of a science lab required for the accreditation of the school to run a grade 11-12 program. In 2022, First Love SSIS is continuing to support he Masa Ati school through the COVID pandemic, by raising funds for operational costs.
