As a statewide organization, FLA’s goal is to inspire all teachers with our annual conference and local councils. Each year we have the privilege of hosting our annual Florida Literacy Conference where educators from all over the state come together and learn. Dynamic speakers, interesting panels and infinite opportunities for networking abound. Additionally, FLA recognizes impactful classroom teachers and literacy coaches with annual awards presented at our annual conference. The Children’s Book Award, the FLA Teacher of the Year Award and the Joye Coy Shaffer Past President’s Scholarship are all ways FLA esteems educators each year.
