We integrate a HIPPA-complaint mobile app into existing pre-operative clinical workflows that expedites the surgery process by providing an ongoing interaction with the patient before, during and after a surgical procedure. The app enables patients to submit pre-surgical screening admission forms, medical problems, recreational drug usage, and concerns or problems with anesthesia in the past in real-time to the pre-op team that would otherwise be collected in the pre-operative appointment. The mobile app features a Surgery Timeline that is interactively driven by the pre-op team to display all of the steps a patient has to complete up to the point of surgery and during the post-operative process. The steps are color coded and includes descriptions to help guide patients and fortify their experience with the Pre-Op team. In addition, patients will receive pre/post instructions, and communicate with real-time text and visual updates. This mobile app improves the pre-op team communication by prepping a patient and meeting their expectations which directly impacts patient satisfaction and HCAHPS star ratings.
