In September 2012 an ATR 42 took off from Yangon Airport. The event marked the start of a new chapter in Myanmar’s aviation history, as it was the first commercial flight of FMI Air Ltd.
FMI Air currently operates about 19 flights a week between the commercial hub, Yangon and the capital city Nay Pyi Taw. With the addition of three Canadian manufactured CRJ-200 aircraft soon FMI Air will add jet transport to their capabilities.
New facilities in Naw pyi taw are being established with hangars and offices as well as new offices in a variety of cities country wide.
