FONDATION SOLANGE BERTRAND Overview

L'artiste Solange Bertrand, sans enfant ni famille proche, souhaitait voir perdurer son œuvre en créant un établissement pourvu d’objectifs culturels et artistiques. Créée en 2001 à l’initiative de l'artiste et du ministre Jean Laurain, la Fondation est reconnu d’utilité publique par Décret ministériel. La Fondation comprend deux adresses : à Nancy et à Longwy. Elle est riche d’un fonds conséquent représentant environ 300 peintures, 700 dessins et une dizaine de sculptures de Solange Bertrand. La Fondation s’attache notamment à conserver, restaurer et mettre en valeur l’œuvre de l'artiste, mais elle a également pour objectifs la présentation d’artistes actuels et contemporains de Solange Bertrand. La Fondation Solange Bertrand propose également des ateliers de médiation culturelle pour différents publics. Depuis peu, la Fondation propose des événements et expositions à Nancy ainsi que des activités de médiation et des ateliers.
