MITI is an interdisciplinary research institute, located at the TUM University Hospital. Our mission is to develop groundbreaking technologies that support physicians in their daily work and that improve the standard of care for patients. As a hub between university, industry and end users, we conduct translational research in the field of minimally invasive surgery, thus combining basic research and clinical application research. To advance the development in the field of minimally invasive surgery, the work of the MITI Research Group encompasses a broad spectrum. The group is focusing on imaging and navigation, innovative therapy methods, mechatronic support systems and instruments, model-based surgery and telematics, as well as simulation and training. Following the motto of "Surgineering", engineers and physicians develop in close cooperation and promote interdisciplinary exchange through workshops.
