Forth & Tay Offshore Overview

Forth & Tay Offshore (FTO), one of eight UK offshore wind clusters, was established to drive the growth of offshore energy on the east coast of Scotland. We’re seeking to build upon the area’s well-established strengths by developing its supply chain and workforce in support of the commitments in the Offshore Wind Sector Deal. Our vision for 2030 is for the region to become home to a thriving, comprehensive, internationally competitive offshore energy supply chain serving local, national and international projects. MISSION The Forth & Tay Offshore Cluster’s mission is to accelerate and further the growth of the offshore energy sector on the east coast of Scotland through a series of activities designed to support innovation, collaboration, investment in skills, and market awareness amongst relevant businesses. It will also work to attract inward investment from leading developers and suppliers and to make Forth and Tay the location of choice for supply chain investments. AIMS & OBJECTIVES The cluster will: • Promote the regional supply chain to prospective customers – developers and Tier one package managers - in the offshore wind sector and develop collaborative working across the industry • Promote the area as the destination of choice for new investments in the UK offshore energy supply chain • Work with our world-renowned colleges and universities to deliver innovative new solutions within the sector, while continuing to develop and promote the skills required to meet the sector’s needs • Share and develop knowledge of the offshore wind sector to enable the supply chain to capitalise on all opportunities • Support members who want to compete for contracts across the UK and internationally • Develop the business case for infrastructure investment which will enhance the cluster’s offshore proposition as one of the UK’s prominent renewable energy hubs.
