Fortitude Clinical was a Contract Research Organisation, located in Singapore, that specialised in South East Asia. The firm developed as a separate offshoot of an earlier site management organisation called APCTN which had focused on Diabetic and Cardiovascular research in the Philippines.
Fortitude Clinical's first year of operation was heavily funded by private European equity. This enabled the firm's rapid expansion. At its peak the firm had offices in three countries, employed 22 members of staff, and operated three separate business divisions.These focused on contract research services, site management services, and market intelligence activities. Connected to its SMO services was a dedicated research clinic in the Philippines, which was the first of its kind in the region.
During the European economic crisis in 2012, the firm's investors were adversely affected and could no longer continue to fund the organisation. The firm closed its doors to business in July 2012.
