Gargour Asia Automotive is the authorized agent of FOTON vehicles in Jordan. It was established in Amman in the year 2015 as a member of TGF Holding for Investment-Jordan which represents several international auto brands in Jordan and the region.
FOTON which is part of Beiqi Foton Motor Co. Ltd , was founded in China in August 28th, 1996 with headquarter in Beijing. FOTON is ranked first in the global commercial vehicle industry in terms of production and sales.
In the year 2009, Foton reached for an agreement with Daimler AG in Berlin-Germany, where the two parties agreed to established a joint venture for the production medium and heavy-duty trucks. Consequently, Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd. was established between Foton and Daimler, with 50% of shares for each, for the manufacturing of Foton's Auman series of medium and heavy-duty trucks, in addition to Daimelr-laicensed 490 HP Euro V Mercedes-Benz OM457 heavy-duty engines.
In March 2008, Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. (BFCEC) was set up with a joint investment of 2.7 billion RMB, and an annual production capacity of 400,000 units. It is among the most well-known, innovative diesel engine manufactures in the wold. Cummins F series includes light-duty 2.8L, 3.8L and medium-duty 4.5L engines, while the G series includes heavy-duty 10.5L nd 11.8L diesel engines.
