FOYER is a literary and culture print magazine from the point of view of individuals from second-generation, mixed heritage and third culture backgrounds.
Why: Individuals of mixed cultural heritage and second-generation backgrounds often experience displacement and feel 'uncategorised' not fitting neatly into the culture of the land into which they were born. These people are forgotten, taken at face value and not engaged with. A lost category. There is so much more to us all than meets the eye, and FOYER attempts to uncover and discover what this is and how culture shapes and defines us.
Mission: FOYER explores how blended cultures influence individuals and how this combines to form their sense of identity. Through interviews, feature articles, photos and stories, we discover, listen, and attempt to understand how our environment influences our individual cultural identity, how we see the world, and examine how this creates barriers and inspires.
Vision: Through FOYER we aim to build a welcoming community where people can share experiences and foster understanding and kinship across cultures.
