The Franco’s story began in Tuscany, Italy in 1946 when a young Franco Ambrogi learned to sew from his mother as a young boy. Shortly after moving to Virginia and working as a master tailor at Berry Burke and Thalhimers, Franco founded Franco's Fine Clothier in historic Lakeside. Initially known as a purveyor of high-quality suits with precision tailoring by in-house tailors, Franco's quickly expanded its range of menswear to include tailored clothing, sportswear, formalwear, footwear, and a wide assortment of fine furnishings for men. Now in its second generation, Franco's Fine Clothier continues to serve Central Virginia with two store locations and a focus on quality woven throughout every aspect of the customer experience.
