Fundación INTRAS es la primera entidad en Castilla y León que cubre en su totalidad el Modelo Integrado de Atención a las personas con discapacidad por enfermedad mental grave y prolongada, desarrollada por la Consejería de Sanidad y la Consejería de Familia e Igualdad de Oportunidades. La Fundación ha pilotado en la provincia de Zamora la implantación del modelo, que abarca todos los aspectos sociales y sanitarios (rehabilitación psicosocial, rehabilitación laboral, residencial atención, Centro Ocupacional, centros de día, actividades de tiempo libre…) de la discapacidad por enfermedad mental de forma coordinada con la Unidad de Psiquiatría del Complejo Asistencial de Zamora. INTRAS presta su actividad bajo la máxima de la recuperación del proyecto vital de la persona afectada por una discapacidad. Esta filosofía contempla la evolución de la persona con discapacidad por enfermedad mental desde los dispositivos sanitarios y de rehabilitación psicosocial hasta el empleo, pasando por los recursos sociales, entre los que destacan los centros ocupacionales. Todo ello apoyado en la existencia de posibilidades de alojamiento, de programas o servicios de educación o formación y de alternativas para el ocio y tiempo libre de estas personas.
