The Bialowieza Forest is one of the last primeval forests in Europe. This unique place is characterized by endemic species, high biodiversity and natural beauty. Protecting biodiversity is crucial in the fight against the climate crisis. The best way to ensure the survival of this unique ecosystem is to combine legal protection with passive reforestation methods and minimize human interference in reserves.
Together with our partners and dedicated volunteers, we raise funds for forest protection and afforestation. We guarantee the purchase, afforestation and protection of land near the Białowieża Forest. We use methods in line with the latest knowledge on forest ecology. If possible, we always choose passive afforestation methods that guarantee a natural forest, where trees take root properly, as opposed to the conventional methods of forest nursery planting that impair the root system at an early stage of tree development. Through passive silviculture, we encourage biodiversity, including local flora, fauna and fungi species.
Involvement of local communities is an important part of our mission. By protecting nature we provide a healthy living environment and the prospect of working in a forest environment, enjoying the benefits of nature.
Our work in planting and protecting forests allows us to spread our knowledge around the world. Our work is part of a strong global trend towards conservation and rewilding. Rewilding assumes that natural areas left to their own devices return to a state of equilibrium. Thanks to the lack of human interference in a given area, diversity increases and wild animals return. An important part of our philosophy is to raise environmental awareness among children, drawing their attention to the benefits of contact with nature. A healthy environment is also a source of drinking water, clean air, and ensures better well-being. A forest is a sure investment for the future.
