Gaeltec Devices Ltd., was founded in June 2010 under the management and ownership of Digitimer Ltd. after the closure of Gaeltec Ltd. in March 2010.
Gaeltec has been manufacturing miniature catheter tip pressure transducers and associated medical pressure measurement equipment since 1971. The company designs and produces the thin film resistive strain gauge sensors as well as the housings and catheters at the Dunvegan premises on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
Close involvement with research groups in many fields has led to successful products for both clinical and research applications, such as Gastrointestinal, Oesophageal, Anorectal and Urological Pressure Transducers, as well as Ambulatory Recorders.
A wide range of standard catheter tip pressure transducers and techniques can be used in different combinations, providing a flexible solution to new problems in the field of pressure measurement.
Gaeltec has also developed a range of catheter-mounted electrodes for ECG and EMG measurement and stimulation. Other applications include sleep, speech and breathing studies as well as progress monitoring during drug trials.
