Galleri Lofotens Hus is referred to as the national gallery of Northern Norway, and contains North Norway's biggest collection of pictorial art from around the turn of the last century, a period often referred to as the Golden Age of North Norwegian art. The Gallery has been built on the foundation of Lofoten’s legendary seasonal fishery.
Through the various exhibitions of our landmark Gallery, guests will get a unique view of the very best of painted art from Lofoten through history as well as a better understanding of why the cod meant so much for building the nation of Norway.
