Gamma Team @PoliTO is a research group of the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT)of-Politecnico di Torino and takes part to the research activities of the Integrated Additive Manufacturing (IAM) laboratory.

The group deals with the materials related aspects of the Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes for metals and polymers. The main investigated topics are the powder production and characterisation, the AM processability of different materials and the evaluation of the effects of the post processing steps.
The materials studied are processed trough most of the AM technologies such as E-PBF, LB-PBF, DED, DLP, SLA, SLS, FF.
Metallic powders are produced in house trough a VIGA gas atomiser. HIP is also used as a production and post AM process.
The main materials processed and studied are Al-alloys, Ni-Alloys, Ti-alloys, steels, intermetallics, metal matrix composites, polymer matrix composites thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers
