ICAI - GCC Overview

The Global Capability Centre (GCC) is an initiative by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to promote India as a global hub for Accountants. ICAI recognizes the growing significance of GCCs in multinational corporations and seeks to position Indian Chartered Accountants at the forefront of this evolution. Key Objectives of GCC: * Knowledge Exchange: Facilitate dialogue and collaboration among professionals, policymakers, and global corporations to share insights and best practices. * Leadership Opportunities: Highlight avenues for Chartered Accountants to take on leadership roles within the expanding GCC ecosystem. * Global Positioning: Promote India, particularly regions like GIFT City, as a prime destination for finance-driven GCCs. * Upskilling Initiatives: Implement programs to enhance the skills of ICAI members, preparing them for international leadership roles in GCCs. Upcoming GCC Summit Series: * Delhi: 27–28 June 2025 * Ahmedabad: 29–30 August 2025 * Mumbai: November–December 2025 * Hyderabad: January–February 2026 These summits will focus on themes such as finance innovation, AI, data privacy, ESG sustainability, ethics & governance, accounting and compliance, cybersecurity, talent development, setting up GCCs, taxation, HR perspectives, marketing strategies, IFSCA/GIFT City, and funding arrangements.
