GD Matriculation Higher Secondary School, based on the ideology and principles of the eminent scientist and industrialist, Sri G.D. Naidu, is the brain child of Mr. & Mrs. G.D Gopal, his son and daughter-in-law. From a humble beginning as Alda Fowler Nursery in 1982 with 16 students, it has grown steadily into a school with 1200 students, and over 80 teaching & non-teaching staff. While academics is a very important aspect of the school curriculum, the teaching as well as non-teaching staff are equally dedicated to the all round development of each child. Extra-curricular activities such as yoga, aerobics, cookery, classical dance & music, sewing, western dance, band, Scouts & Guides, NSS, Personality development and Good grooming, etc., are offered to our students. The emphasis on holistic education has ensured that when the students leave their Alma mater, they are geared to face the world with courage confidence and humility, holding high the values of honesty and integrity, an abiding love of their motherland and concern for their less fortunate brethren. GD School and the Zollberg – Realschule have a tie up for a school exchange programme where students of either school visit each other and take part in a sports and cultural exchange program. Our school is also part of the PASCH program - a global network of schools that place a high value on German. We have been selected as one among the 10 schools in Tamil Nadu by the Goethe-Institut, Delhi. The institution is part of the GD Group which is highly acclaimed for its world class industries such as GeDee Weiler, Watertec Systems, G.Plast and UMS Technologies. The Trust also runs the GeDee Technical Training Institute and GeDee Public School. The GD Naidu Charities owns 2 museums - a museum that houses various everyday objects and the GeDee Car Museum - a vintage to modern car museum. The objective of the museums is to kindle a sense of curiosity and encourage children to ask the 7 Ws & 1 H.
