The GNF is a nonprofit corporation organized to recruit and maintain a cohort of “members” to participate in long-term multigenerational studies of brain health. In this community with medical researchers, we will examine the medical, lifestyle, and societal factors affecting the aging brain in populations seeking to maintain an active, engaged and independent lifestyle. We call these studies collectively, the Georgetown Brain Study
We will do this as a non-profit corporation organized and managed by its members to:
• Conduct Clinical Studies with Medical Schools, foundations, and industry partners focused on neurodegenerative disease and its care, research, education, and preventative interventions
• Be a “Community Laboratory” - Members of the Foundation may participate in different Research and technology protocols and unique Educational Opportunities
• Continuously educate its members on current medical and technology breakthroughs
• Be modeled after other clinical study organizations which have successfully enlightened other medical research needs -the Framingham Heart Study.
• To engage the community - its diversity, curiosity/education, generosity and creativity
