German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation is one of the entities affiliated with the German Savings Banks Finance Group. Since its establishment in 1992, Sparkassenstiftung supports financial institutions in developing and emerging countries, promoting economic and social development by providing needs-oriented financial services. Sparkassenstiftung pursues the goal of enhancing the professionalism of its partner institutions, thus enabling them to provide their clients with financial and non-financial products on permanent basis. For more than 200 years, German Sparkassenstiftung has provided evidence that sustainable and successful microfinance is possible but requires effective regulation and a high level of professionalism. The German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation transfers this experience and key success factors to its partners. Today Sparkassenstiftung is one of the largest private development institutions in Germany.
Sparkassenstiftung launched its project “Strengthening the resilience of population groups particularly affected by crises in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan”. The project is financially backed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and mainly aims to strengthen the underprivileged and low-income population groups and train them in several financial axes to increase their financial knowledge in addition to sustainable business skills in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Sparkassenstiftung Jordan mainly aims to enhance the skills of partners and institutions concerned with financially marginalized groups (microfinance institutions, local community institutions, youth and women’s institutions) to enhance their skills and capabilities in spreading financial culture and awareness among the target groups and enhancing the skills of the underprivileged population groups in Jordan.
