Ghana Home Loans was incorporated as a mortgage finance institution in 2006 and obtained its banking license in June 2017 under the name GHL Bank Ltd.
On 5th May 2020, GHL Bank was acquired by First National Bank Ghana and is now a full subsidiary of the latter.
First National bank Ghana Limited is a 100% subsidiary of the FirstRand Group, the largest financial institution group, as measured by market capitalisation, in Africa.
The transaction has been approved by the boards of the two banks and has received the required regulatory approvals from the Bank of Ghana and the South African Reserve Bank.
Customers of both banks are being advised to continue doing business with their current bankers until new developments are communicated.
