Gibbs Truck Transmissions was founded in 1957 by Ivan Gibbs and Bert Wilson. It started as a car and truck wrecking yard business for the Gibbs family before it was taken over by the current owners Paul and Chris Gibbs in 1980.
After many successful ventures, In 2002, a new company by the name Gibbs Parts, Pty Ltd was created to specialize in the provision of parts for Japanese trucks and some American and European models. The outlet for this company is situated at Rocklea. Since then, there have been so many successful startups.
