On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the successful operation of the Godot Gallery, we expanded our activities by establishing the Godot Institute of Contemporary Art (GICA) in 2019, adding a new dimension to the Hungarian visual arts scene. Located in the heart of Óbuda, on the historic site of the Goldberger factory, this privately founded contemporary art center provides a new exhibition space for artists, curators, and the general public alike.
With a total area of 1,100 square meters, including a 700 square meter hall and a four-story building, the Godot Institute of Contemporary Art is a unique independent visual arts institution in Hungary. Project rooms further expand the range of possibilities here.
Our goal is to create opportunities for the free flow of art, providing space for young artists and curators to explore their creative freedom while establishing a complex, sustainable model for supporting the arts.
