The Gifted Student Center institute (previously known as Al-Fateh Center for Gifted Students) was found in 1993. It is a public school located in Benghazi, eastern Libya. The center gathers students from several levels ranging from the second grade of preparatory school to the third grade of the secondary school of both genders in its classes. In Libya, this school was the first of its kind and the only one so far as it specializes in educating only the gifted and the intelligent students. The center's name was changed from 'Al-Fateh Center for Gifted Students' to 'Gifted Student Center' after the Libyan revolution in 2011. Although it is a public school, the center can be distinguished from other public schools in the country by the presence of a carefully organized mechanism for selecting potential students. To become eligible to enrol in the school, the students must take and pass special kind of exams in both intelligence and government school curricula. It also surpasses other schools by its unique teaching mechanisms and study programs specifically dedicated to this kind of students and the authentic supervision for those brilliant minds. Overall, the main goal behind establishing this institute is enhancing the educational attainment of those students and improving the Libyan educational system for better outcomes for the community.
