Girls for Tomorrow (GFT) was born of the mute eloquence of a young woman who singlehandedly shook the entire nation to stand against the fight for women's rights. The 2012 Delhi rape case horrified the world and drew attention to gender-based violence, and the victim became known as “Nirbhaya” – now a household name for courage and valor in India. Feeling inspired to contribute to mobilizing the societal change required for women to enjoy safe and strong future, we founded Girls for Tomorrow to lionize womanhood. Wrapped up in our own worlds, we often forget what it means to be a woman, and instead simply accept the challenges and occasional dangers around us. We believe that change begins by changing one idea at a time: starting from our own neighborhood, area, city, state and maybe whole nation eventually.
