Ganpatrao Ingole Smruti Seva Sanstha (GISSS), Nagpur was registered in 1999 as a non-profit, non-government, voluntary development organization. It came into existence to respond to the prevailing exploitative situation of women as experienced by the Founder President of GISSS Shri Sudhakardada Ingole in the city of Nagpur for four decades. It focused primarily on economic development of women. It supported every poor and needy woman making them available small and short term loan to start an income generation activity and to sustain food and income security of the family. It believed that improvement in economical conditions would bring tremendous changes such as improvement in the living standards of the family, increase in self-confidence and bargaining capacity of women, etc. Through this experiment GISSS has reached out to more than 25000 poor and needy women in the city of Nagpur bringing incredible changes in family situations by supporting their economic development programmes.
In order to promote social, economic, political and cultural empowerment of women Sudhakardada started following programmes namely;
Small-finance for providing short term loans to start income generation activity, etc.
Arthik Durbal Mahila Vikas Sahakari Path Sanstha Limited (ADMVSPL) to assist women to start individual economic venture and saving money by making deposits, etc.
Mahila Swayamsahayata Mahasangh (MSM) to promote savings and economic development among women, etc.
Niraadhar Mahila Parishad (NMP) providing a platform to address social issues of women and for capacity building, etc.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Shikshadaan Yojna to support students for completing education by way of fees, tuition classes, etc.
Bramhachaitanya Goshala va Shendriya Sheti Prakalp to promote cattle care and protection and to spread practice of organic farming techniques and activities.
