The Global Media Registry (GMR) is a social enterprise that promotes transparency, accountability and diversity in the information space. Registered as a non-profit, charitable LLC under German Law, it owns and operates the Media Ownership Monitor as a public utility and implements it in partnership within a network of like-minded partner organisations globally, enabling local ownership of each country edition.
The GMR is a member of the Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), a consortium member of the Global Media & Internet Concentration Project (GMICP) and a member of the Media Freedom Cohort of the Summit for Democracy.
