Global Peace Centre Canada (GPCC) is a nonprofit peacebuilding organization and is a member of the MSCU Centre for Peace Advancement, affiliated with Conrad Grebel University at the University of Waterloo.
Ziauddin Yousafzai, the father of Malala Yousafzai, is forming the Global Peace Centre Canada (GPCC). GPCC will focus on peacebuilding through curriculum development and training in the area of conflict resolution for students and teachers, and restorative justice systems in schools and communities in Pakistan. The GPCC will work in partnership with Conrad Grebel at the University of Waterloo, Wilfred Laurier University, the University of Peshawar, the University of Swat, the Global Peace Council Pakistan and the Frontier Education Foundation Pakistan.
The vision of the GPCC is to create stable communities that transform injustice in constructive, creative potential for all. The mission is to equip citizens with the knowledge and skills they need to transform society and foster non-violent peace building through education. The mission will be accomplished with a focus on three core pillars:
1. Peace educational resource development
2. Practical training
3. Access to education
