The Global Water Leaders Group exists to make the world of water work better. It achieves this by tapping into the expertise of water leaders from across the world to share their ideas and experience, and to help them make the case for water.
The Group is a cluster of utility CEOs representing more than 1 billion municipal water customers. Other members include water ministers, regulators and mayors.
The aim of the GWLG is to create a better story for urban water by bringing together the top decision-makers and thought-leaders from across the world. With each meeting, the leaders are making game-changing progress to drive performance in water utilities, together.
The Group has two main initiatives:
1. The 300 Water Leaders Initiative aims to convene 300 of the developing world's most ambitious utility leaders who can together ensure that 300 million more people have access to water and sanitation services by 2030. It is an official pledge to the UN Water Action Agenda.
2. Leading Utilities of the World (LUOW) is a network of the world's most forward-thinking water and wastewater utilities, as defined by the network's 14 distinct innovation areas.
