It’s a passion for the preservation of history that brought Gold Rush Expeditions to life. Since 1994 Corey Shuman has been actively working to document and preserve historic mining sites. Corey credits working with real miners in the field for a real knowledge for what mining is, not what a geologist or environmentalist says it is.
In 2012 Corey left a lucrative career at Raytheon to see a dream realized. Along with his wife and business partner, Jessica, the two took Gold Rush from a small basement dream to a real business with over $1 million dollars in annual revenues.
Today, Gold Rush is a bustling business. Corey has a desk at the office but is rarely there. Corey is traveling across the western states more than 40 weeks a year. Each mining claim survey is personally conducting by Corey and Jessica. “It’s a labor of love” says Corey, of his work documenting some of the most valuable and historic mining properties in America.
