Inauguré en 1959, le Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche est un golf privé comportant deux parcours de 18 trous, le club house a été aménagé dans une magnifique ferme XVIIIème, dépendance royale du Château de Versailles.
Le Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche est réservé à ses membres, leurs familles et leurs invités.
Au tout début de son existence, il accueillait déjà le Championnat du Monde en 1963, puis, pendant 34 ans, le Trophée Lancôme, épreuve majeure du circuit Européen à laquelle participaient les meilleurs joueurs du monde. Ce qui a largement contribué à sa notoriété et à la qualité de ses parcours.
