Good To Know's Mission:
To promote literacy and literature across all age and income groups via technology and new approaches to contextual learning. To expose audiences of all ages to quality short-form literature by both established and emerging writers. To provide an accessible and engaging college and standardized-test preparation service to high school and college students, with a special focus on affordability to lower-income communities and individuals.
A brief description of the service we provide:
Our STORIED study apps offer refreshingly entertaining, original stories, written by established as well as lesser-known contemporary authors and serving as context for learning standardized test (SAT, PSAT, ACT, TOEFL, GRE, etc.) vocabulary. The stories will be available via the Web and on mobile devices such as the iPhone, allowing for interactivity (e.g. in-text definitions), integrated study tools (e.g. smart flashcards), and high accessibility.
The second version of our iPhone app - featuring a full set of stories covering 750 of the most commonly occurring SAT words, along with streamlined definitions, custom usages, intuitive study screens, dynamic metrics and an elegant design - will be available in the iTunes Store in April. A Web app and hard copies of the stories are in the works.
