Gorilla Gardening wurde 2013 in Bern gegründet. Begonnen hat alles mit der Produktion und dem Vertrieb von Seedballs. Schon bald kamen weitere Produkte rund ums Urban Gardening dazu. Die Produktpalette wurde ausgebaut: Zu den Samenbomben kamen Seedpills, Samenpapier, ein Bienenhotel und viele weitere Produkte dazu. Alle Produkte werden im eigenen Onlineshop und über ca. 50 Händler in der ganzen Schweiz verkauft.
Der Name "Gorilla Gardening" entstand aus einem Wortspiel abgeleitet von Guerilla Gardening. Und so ein Name verpflichtet! Pro verkauftem Säckchen im Onlineshop spendet Gorilla Gardening wir einen Franken an den Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Seit 2015 wird die Marke Gorilla Gardening von der re:gardening gmbh geführt.
